Aim, shoot, and watch the paper ball bounce its way down. Clear every mustard target peg before your balls run out, and try to drop the ball in the bucket at the bottom for a free one.

Fifty levels take you from a sunny meadow past the seaside and a busy town, above the clouds and into the starry night. Each part brings something new: long pegs laid along ramps, walls, bumpers, pegs that slide and spin, portals, winds and force fields.

Features

  • A campaign of 50 levels, with a short tutorial and a hint whenever something new comes up
  • Power pegs: multiball, fireball, bombs, lightning, a magnet, a big ball, a super guide, and penalty pegs that work against you
  • A daily challenge: the same level for everyone each day, with a twist
  • Challenge codes: send a friend your score on a level to beat
  • A level editor: build your own levels, and share them as codes
  • Mouse, touch and gamepad, with rumble
  • English and German
  • Symbols on pegs for color-blind players, and a setting for less motion

Controls

  • Mouse: move to aim, click to shoot. Hold the right button between shots to speed up. Esc pauses, F11 goes fullscreen.
  • Touch: drag to aim, let go to shoot.
  • Gamepad: left stick to aim, shoulder buttons to fine-tune, A to shoot, right trigger to speed up, Start to pause.

How it was made

Paper Peg is an experiment in how far a game gets when a person steers and generative AI does the making. ccoors designed and directed it: what the game is, how it should feel, what to change and what to cut. Claude wrote the code and drafted the levels. There are no generated images: all the art is drawn by the game’s own code. The music was composed as code, also written with AI, and played with FluidSynth; the sound effects are synthesized by the game itself.

This is intended as a sort of design study, and to gain experience in polishing and publishing games. I tried to keep the "slop feeling" at a minimum, without explicitly stating that as my intention. Constructive comments about the game and the process are welcome.

Free, with no accounts, no ads and no tracking: Paper Peg collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. It is dedicated to the public domain (CC0).
